well, the money came in, FINALLY!!! last week. It took long enough, but i can always use it. I had it split into two parts so next term is already paid for and i will get another chunk of change in january after classes start again.
School is pretty challenging. I put in between four and six hours a day on homework plus class time and do some reading most nights in addition. But i am learning SOOOO much. I already can program a simple web page with links, titles, navigation, etc in HTML and can photoshop anything pretty much. Flash 8 animation is giving me fits this week, I can get the stuff to move and morph, but can’t figure out why sometimes it disappears from the stage. something to do with grouping versus symbols (?)
so I re-read the entire text up to where we are now (chapter 7) and will go in today for a few hours and re-do all the little exercises, just to see what i missed. it makes a lot more sense this time than when i first read it, so i have high hopes.
the schools computers are so much faster for the big programs than my little box at home, plus my signal is kinda unreliable. so i spend most of my computer time at school. fewer distraction, too.
There are a lot of jobs out there for web monkeys, and some cartooning stuff, too. I think I’ll be able to make a fun living with this.
