At least that’s the theory, that it’s cooler in Ajo. In fact the high temperature isn’t but just a little lower than Phoenix, but at night it cools down. It cools WAY down. You wake up in the middle of the night and turn off the swamp cooler, that’s how much it cools down. There’s no urban heat island. In the city you might have access to groups that study Mesothelioma, hundreds of movies in air conditioned splendor on huge screens, Italian ice, malls … you get it, but in the desert it cools off at night.
It’s a trade-off, but we’re going tomorrow to stay longer than we ever have in one whack.
