Whee!! I will be up and running in time for Christmas gifts, there’s some good news for all the good dogs and happy hounds on my shopping list this year. Here is the preliminary logo design.

Doesn’t that hound look happy? I want to make it so the customer can send me their pic, and for a small added fee I can put their own dog’s pic in the logo.
Won’t that be special?

I will get to the kitchen. The cabinets are great, just an ugly color, and the hardware is dirty and broken. We might be able to save some of the hardware, but I’m thinking it might be nice to just go ahead and get a whole new wet of plastic knobs that match. The cabinets will be dark mahogany, or something close to that. The walls will be (of course) peach.
I have used two five-gallon buckets of paint so far and am about half done with the main color (peach) on all the walls and woodwork. Next I will go over the window sills with a glossy peach, the same color, but tougher, then the dark color goes on one or two walls for contrast and the kitchen cabinets.

My extruder lizards are done, I might have to wait awhile before I really
like them, the glaze on the blue one was a real light powder blue after bisque firing, but after the high firing, the blue turned dark.
The little ones I like just fine, but Dave seems to think they look like dog turd piles. I have to keep in mind that he has not even ONE artistic bone in his body. (Excluding the awesome creativity it takes to restore vintage FZR bikes, which is what he does all the time in his garage.)

The assignment was to do three extruder projects consecutively, each one developing from the last. I am trying to understand abstract art, so I did the big lizard first and then made the little ones with increasingly less detail. That’s not really abstract, but I had hoped to approach abstract with that method.
i still don’t get it, but am trying. Something to work for.

When I came in the house it smelled just like home! We were only gone a few days, but there’s no place like home.
Look how comfy Hank the Cow Dog got on the way home. He for sure doesn’t need any roadside assistance, long as we keep rolling.

I also painted a lot! I used most of a five-gallon bucket of peach. The house is looking great. look at these big windows with the peach walls.

We’re going to Ajo tonight and work on the house, we won’t need any travel insurance quotes because we aren’t crossing the border into Mexico.
But right now I am going to ceramics class. My teacher competes in the ceramic Olympics each year, and this year the category he chose is the largest pot ever.
Here is his first experiment.

So, off to class I go, I never know what I’ll find!!

My rag top is hanging loose, I can’t even run it through the car wash because the back window is barely cradled, a good wind would have it.
My excuse is that I’m ‘going Australian’ (there’s a law against washing you car in the north part of Australia from the drought). You wouldn’t believe how long I have been shopping the auto accessories sites and craig’s list.

So this is the weekend we take it off and Gorilla Glue it. Wouldn’t it just have to be a hot weekend!! Supposed to get up to a hundred again.
Come on Winter, where did you go?

Since I forgot the camera, you will get pics next time. We plan to go down there again in two weeks and our goal this time will be to get one room ready for overnight habitation. The floor will be cleared, not tiled yet, but I want one room to be done other than the floors.
The Front window coverings was my goal this time. Put up blinds in the front bedroom and a huge canvas covering in the front room. The problem is that I need to plaster and fix and sand and texture and paint the sill and the wall around the curtain before I install. Don’t want to get my nice new drapes paint-spotted. I am ready for the next 3 or four windows now.
It was cool out, we walked the dogs for a long time on three mornings in a row. Those lucky dogs! I spent too long out in it for best skin health, but the best wrinkle treatment in the world won’t stop my aging process, so … so what! We had fun.
We found some WWII bullet joiners for those shells that come on bandoleros, you know those straps of bullets like the killer bees of Saturday Night Live fame use.
Found a heap of those, Dave kept a couple.

Today I played with Cyndi’s grandchild, Harley. What a charmer! He is one real good reason for getting life insurance no exam.
The blog where I got this pic is a great site about the special bond between a grandparent and a grandchild.

Harley is holding his head by himself today, whereas two weeks ago he was wobbly. He’s still happy and flirty, and today he held onto the rattle a lot better. Boy, he just grows leaps and bounds. Cyndi says she can almost see him grow minute by minute. I don’t doubt it.
