I have a YouTube account now!! Now I have to look around and see what I can do with it. Made my own first comment, too. Follow the link above.
I have more pictures of our reunion. Aaron and Larry were best pals when they were kids and when the family broke apart and decades went by, they never thought they’d see each other again. It was a really great visit for them both.

Larry and Cindy
Larry and Cindy came over to Mom’s for a sit on the patio and we all got to visit. Joy and Aaron went to their house for a beautiful barbecue chicken lunch.
We all shopped some, Joy got cigars, I was looking for anything on
sale, and Nete was buying for grand kids.
We had a nice dinner at Flavio’s, our favorite place, look at all this food!

Rocky Point was so much fun this weekend, I wonder why I don’t go more often? Sometimes it’s not so good, with too many people, dust, wind, or any of a bunch of snags. But smooth sailing this time. Joy and Nete and Aaron stayed in the Pithaya (my favorite) right on the beach and Joy and I spent some time in the great bar they have upstairs. We had fun, and saw some fantastic sunsets from the tables under palm frond palapas on the beach in front of the hotel rooms.
This is a great place to vacation for families with children, lovers getting away from the kids, family reunions, and all other kinds of get-away … gay vacations included.
Except on spring break, the Pithaya gets busy and loud then, and the bar is full. I wonder if they put the parrot away at those times? That parrot liked to visit. Aaron got him to talk back.

I had a really good trip! Cousins were wonderful to get to know. I had three long-lost relatives out on thepatio furniture at Mom’s one afternoon.
The weather was great, not too hot, not too cold. The nights cooled down enough for a blanket.

Joy and Nete
Pnut and Fay went with me, Fay was my good travel buddy, as usual, but Pnut got to where he didn’t want to get in the car, didn’t want to stay at Winnie’s. I got tired of chasing him down every time I got in the car to go. I finally got him in the car consistently by capturing his forward momentum toward the PASSENGER side, not the driver’s side for some reason, and used the same tone of voice (cheery) every time. He’d just sweep in and then look like he wanted out again. HA HA AhHaaHaa (evil laugh). But I got to where I wanted to leave him at Mom’s, no matter what he thought.
He really got Nete’s dog, Vallie, to playing. They went around and around. All the other dogs were pretty jealous and crabby with each other. But not the cousins! We had a great time and a great visit!

Wish I’d taken the camera to open workshop today, I had a really great throwing day! I will photo some of the good pots to show you eventually.
I am making number tiles for Mom’s address in Ajo and in Rocky Point, they are turning out cute, all different sizes and colors. Dave wants me to make some for our house, so I will. I will probably make them all the same size and color, to match our house, ’cause that’s how we roll here in Phoenix. But I have to say, the variety tiles are a real hoot.
I took in the ugly ‘foot tall’ pot that collapsed on me. It was for the ‘foot tall item’ assignment and I thought I was going to remake that one, but we’re coming up on the last 2 weeks of wet work, due to the time it takes to fire, glaze, and re-fire the pots. The term is screaming to an end.
I have most everything done for my classes, just a lot of ends to tie up on the ecommerce, a lot of studying on the macroeconomics.
I am going down to Rocky Point next week-end and won’t be here for the Saturday open ceramics lab. I’m glad it went well today. Glad I had a breakthrough on throwing. Don’t need no pill or counseling. No anti-depressants or nuphedra reviews . I was having a hard time getting my clay consistant and it seemed stiff. Turns out I was missing a very handy technique … all I had to do was spread the clay flat on the wedging table and roll it up like a fruit roll-up to soften it. The clay is very consistant after you do that and then wedge like normal. Really makes a big difference on the wheel.
Happy clay day!

Hackers
I chose Hackers because I’d seen it a long time ago and it has Angelina Jolie, one of my favorite actors. Man, she was SOO young!
I don’t know how realistic it is technologically, but the ‘salami slice’ gambit is real and has been used in real life, also in that Office Space or whatever that funny movie was.
They really had to reach to make the hackers seem edgy. Did you ever know any geeks that had names and lives that exciting? I mean, it all happens in front of a computer, how edgy can that be?
But fun movie and I liked it again.

Is harder to come up with than I figured. I thought “Easy Peasy” when I found the $325.00 scholarship last Tuesday. Put ten of your recent (last 2 years) art pieces on a CD in JPG format.
I found nine that I thought were truly original and good enough. Nine! I included one quilt and the bamboo platter, and the rest was digital art; posters, postcards, product promotions. Dang, I found a weak spot that I need to work on, more art needed.
So there goes $325.00 potential moneys, but I have nine ready to go at the moments notice, so that’s something. Next time I’ll kill it.
I feel a little humble about my artistic ability for good reason. Some of those kids at school are SOO good! And art just pours out of them, some are just at the acne skin treatment stage and producing great stuff right and left. One guy in my eComm class does Flash ‘toons absentmindedly during class, kind of doodling. He’s really good, too. So I have good reason to be realistic about my artistic talent.
Still, $325.00 … and I heard there was a lot of money to give out, I could have probably gotten some of it.
Here’s my favorite fictional product promo from last term.

I think I did well. I had 8 extra credit points built up, and I probably needed them, but I expect I got an ‘A’ over all.
I found another scholarship to apply for and am knee-deep in the time-consuming task of finding 10 art pieces from the last 2 years to enter. I need to gather images in jpg format on a disc. Paris has that disc label maker, so I will use one of my images for the label. Finding 10 pieces that I think are worthy is turning out to be a problem. Ceramics is the only actual, physical art I’ve done, the rest is software art, page design, poster design. But it’s an in-school scholarship for $325.00 and I’ve heard they have a lot of them this year, like butt-load proportions, so I have a pretty good chance of getting one.
So I re-took the ceramic dish picture. Is this one better?
